WAVE WARPER!!!

WAVE WARPER!!!

2006-12-21 by crmatt99

F*** metasonix, this module has all the crazy grinding sounds I was looking for and I still
have only used sine waves into it. I am very happy with this module, I am so glad I took
everyones recommendation. I just love when you think you have your next few modules
planed then you get one then change your mind. I was going to get another 190 for ring
mod, I don't really need four vca's yet but with a wave warper who needs more ring mod.
I've
only got three spaces left now, guess I'll have to build a new cabinet maybe I will sell my
old one.

Paul the 510 an excellent module, and sadly the last module I will get to put together, I'll
miss that part. Still I'll be hanging in there to see all the new goodies. Have a good new
year.

Nothing against metasonix I'll probably get some of there products eventually.

I don't know about the rest of you but I have kinda had this love/hate thing with the Metasonix stuff (BTW: Eric Barbour writes some amazing articles on tubes if you have not read any yet)... I really want to get some of their modules but they just don't integrate with the MOTM as well as they "might".

The mounting brackets they offer for MOTM seem to be kind of a pain... if I'm not mistaken you have to drill your own holes in the modules to mount them... and then even after that they still have a huge gap in between each module. I hate to be superficial complaining about the "cosmetics" because it's obviously really about the "sounds"... but with so many other truely MOTM compatible modules (cyndustries, bridechamber, blacet, encore electronics, oakley etc.) being offered right now the Metasonix stuff just keeps slipping to the bottom of the list of things to buy (despite my being a huge "tube" fan)... but definitely on my list

The other thing slowing me down on a Metasonix purchase to go with my MOTM is the fact that the VCO is Hz per octave not V... I was hoping the new WretchMachine would address this but alas they went with the Hz per octave again... doh! Too bad because I think the WretchMachine would look... errr.. or I mean "sound" real nice in the same rack as my MOTM. =) If it only were Volts per Octave it would be sitting in my rack right now.

Has anyone tried making a MOTM panel for a Metasonix module?

Rob

Well, if someone lets me borrow one for a bit, I'll give it a shot...
