Looking for EFG-Deluxe panel

Looking for EFG-Deluxe panel

2007-10-28 by Robert van der Kamp

Hi all,

I own an Oakley env. follower combined with two-way lag processor,
and it works great.
But I really don't like the standard panel that comes with it. So
much that I refuse to mount it in the cabinet. ;)

Does anyone have a true MOTM style panel (with the beloved MOTM
paint) for sale for this module? Or is there a way to order one,
somewhere?

Thanks,
Rober

Talk to Scott at bridechamber.com. He may not have it in stock, but he
does panel runs on occasion. If you can generate enough demand you can
get one made.

Am I missing something? As far as I know, neither Scott nor Doug have
produced a MOTM/Stooge panel in at least a year. I know life has been
taking a higher priority for these guys, but I think it's time we all
just own up to the fact that new MOTM/Stooge panels are not going to
happen anytime soon.

Just to be clear, what I mean by MOTM/Stooge is replicating the paint
and labeling as closely as possible. Not some "close" facsimile.

I'm not trying to 'dis anyone, it's just that news that smacks of any
progress hasn't been heard for months. It's all probably moot anyway
because MOTM itself is moving to a new paint process. Matching things
up going forward will be impossible.

I think you are missing something. I don't know about Doug, but
Scott Deyo is currently producing a large number of panels in MOTM
format. In fact, this past week I received a panel and bracket for
the CGS Tube VCA based on a design I suggested in August. While the
font used for its lettering is slightly different, the paint looks
the same as the Stooge and Synthesis Technology panels. Even the
holes are painted. I'm very happy with it.

RE: [motm] Looking for EFG-Deluxe panel

I've bought some modules from Scott myself. And I heartily recommend
his services/items to everyone. I'll buy more from him if and when he
has new stuff I want.

Now having said that, Scott's panels are, by his own admission, close
but not exact. MOTM "format" is different from MOTM "look". In many
ways I prefer Brideschamber's "look". The font, for example, is easier
for me to read. But nevertheless, they are not as close to Paul's old
panels as Stooge's were (at least to my eyes).

Robert was asking for a "true" MOTM-esq panel, and as far as I can see,
only Doug is on record for attempting to keep the Stooge "look" going.
But unfortunately he's been pre-occupied (the details of which I am not
familiar - I'm only inferring from what he has posted on his web site).
Months ago I sent him a huge list of panels I'd like to buy from him.
But that's been close to a year now.

(Hey Doug - if you're reading this, I hope your condition is not too
serious and you are getting better.)

I haven't seen one of Doug's panels yet, so I don't know how close his
will ultimately be. As soon as I get one, I'll know. In the meantime,
I'll have a chance to see one of Paul's new panels soon enough (probably
in front of the Cloud Generator). Once I see the new "look," it might
turn out that Scott's panels are well within the variation range that
I'll have to learn to live with.

As an aside, I've got enough MOTM modules across several generations to
verify differences in MOTM's own paint. It is really noticeable. I've
got some panels whose texture is a lot smoother than others. You can
really see the difference when they are side-by-side. Scott's paint
texture fits in the middle of the two extremes, and is more uniform.
The sputtering on Pauls panels can run from somewhat fine to quite
coarse. Scott's lettering font, however, is very different and very
apparent.

Those are my observations,

Former Module Prices From July 2006?

2007-10-28 by Michael Zacherl (aka TonTaub)

Hi All,

in an desperate attempt to get my building backlog straight and mainly
reconstruct my "book-keeping" (I had some bad data loss) I'd need the
module prices from July last year (just before the kit sellout started).
I got a pdf catalog from July 2004 but I'm not sure if that's valid
information.

Any useful information is welcome,

         thanks a lot, Michael.

Hey Hans,

    thanks for reminding me! ;-)

From there I get the same motmcat5.pdf file like I already have and
also still can be downloaded from Paul's site.
But the prices just don't match with the fragments of my records. :-/

Brilliant! Thanks a lot!
I started creeping (it's soooo sloooow) within the archived pages and
funnily enough the webarchive displays a wrong price for the 310.

RE: [motm] Former Module Prices From July 2006?

2007-10-29 by Greg James

I think I got the price for the "Built (old)" 320 wrong! I think it
should be $259 instead of $289. Can someone verify?...

Brilliant! Thanks a lot!
I started creeping (it's soooo sloooow) within the archived pages and
funnily enough the webarchive displays a wrong price for the 310.

Re: [motm] Looking for EFG-Deluxe panel

2007-10-30 by Robert van der Kamp

Thanks for the info guys.

I wasn't aware of Scott's panel service. I'll check out his site.

Good to read that I'm not the only one who's so fanatic about the front panel looks. It's absurd, I know, I should just use my ears, but hey... ;)

Or is there a way to order one,
somewhere?

Thanks,
Rober
