Need a hearing test?
1999-03-26 by Dave Bradley
Man, if you can hear over 13 octaves, I salute you! Are you sure you don't eat Alpo for breakfast<g>? I don't know what my range is anymore, but it's a lot less than that! One time when I was younger, my sister and I were sitting in the living room complaining about a high pitched whine emanating from the TV, and my parents couldn't hear it. Now my dad had ruined his hearing in the Army, but I was surprised that my mom couldn't hear it either. Well, I dragged my little Emu modular into the room and proceeded to test my parent's high frequency hearing by sweeping oscillators through the stereo. High frequencies that had my sister and me cowering left my parents unfazed. I'd hate to repeat that test on myself now :(.
