What means this, "Synth Loser"? I need to know if I am one myself.

Few wives share the excitement of their husband's outlay of cash and square
footage in assembling a monster modular. I'm happy with my wife's "Just make
sure we can still eat, dear." So I'll stop just short of not being able to
afford food.
