3/8". You measure the threads only.

They are #8-32.

I probably will order something at some point (how's that for an aggressive
reply?).

As musicians with 19" racks, we're used to paying a lot for screws. But
really, the rest of the world *isn't*, so I'm more surprised at prices like
a buck a screw than 1000 for $10.

Now if I can just find extra nickel-plated washers & hex nuts for
Switchcraft jacks....

Ken, I did visit this link you sent.  Cool link for hardware.   I searched
for 3/8" screws.  They were quoted even cheaper.  I just can't seem to
believe those prices.  $7.37 for 1000.  That's less than 1 cent each. 
Surely that can't be right.  Are you going to order some to see what they
are?
