Future module suggestion

Paul,

When you get around to looking at resonant formant filter banks, I'd like to
suggest the MAM RS3 as a starting point.

For those folks who haven't already heard of it, look at this review on
midiwall:

It's touted as "Jean Michael Jarre strings in a box", and if you listen to
the RealAudio demos you'll agree. Basically 3 resonant bandpass filters in
parallel, with individual tune and common CV inputs, 2 internal LFOs that
can be routed to filters with either polarity, outputs pannable across the
stereo field, and unique envelope follower that works low, mid, and high
sections independently.

That's a great tip! This sounds like the Syntron Syrinix filter, which is 3
CEM3350s filter chips.

I'm not familiar with the Syntron, but this is also mentioned as being
similair to the beloved resonant filter bank on the Korg PS3300.

Hi Paul n All !

This MAM box is based on the resonant filter bank of the Korg PS3200 .
If i remember right, Juergen Haible had something to do with the MAM .

The Synton Syrinx is somewhat different, i believe 1 lp 12dB/24dB and 
two bp .  And swichable in different parallel and series 
configurations .  Mighty good fun :)  Could make a second module in 
the Xpander filter series .  (and that Korg filter bank a good third 
:) )
