Patch cord help

Patch cord help

2000-07-31 by Andy Miller

Ok, well I have my soldering iron, my heat gun, and even my Panavise.
I have modules coming in and solder is flying. What I do not have
is patch cords. I visited the local music store and they can get
expensive.

I would like to assemble my own patch cords and I want quality coax
and plugs. What brand of 1/4 inch plugs should I use and what brand
and size of coax? Should I even assemble my own? I assume that it
is cheaper to do so.

Are there manufactured patch cords that are high quality that are
recommended?

Opinions please.

Thanks
Andy

I do all of my own assembly for modules, but have found that John Kovac's
cables are high quality audio cables. He'll make them any size you want,
and you have choices of cable color and shrink tubing color for keeping
track of where the cables go. He uses Switchcraft plugs and delivery is
very fast. I've found that he can pretty much sell you a cable for about
what it would cost to buy cable and plugs. www.wackykovacy.com

Well, back when I got my Aries system, they supplied 20 3' 1/8"
cables...
Now, calm down, Paul, I'm just joking...
