UEG..

UEG..

Yeah that UEG is going to be a great module.. It's great to have minds like
Tony's, JH's (Int.Scanner module!!), and others on MOTM's side..

Any word on the rails yet Paul?

How's anyone planning to do cabinets for their MOTM once the rails come out?
If I remember correctly the rails are 6 spaces wide, so for me, I was
thinking of doing two row, 6 space cabinets.. One at first and evcentually
making up another as the collection grows.. I think that three rows might be
a stretch for most people in a seated position.. Maybe a very laid back row
at the bottom and then two vertical rows, ala some older Buchlas or Serges
(which was it?) Or the always impressive top row tilting forward over the
rest of the system ala TONTO.. And of course there is always the MOOG style,
in this case it would be 12 spaces wide x two rows high with the lucky few of
us with enough modules to do another separate row on top, maybe reserved for
DOMAS and other stuff.. The size of MOTM modules will make designs
interesting, indeed..
anyone?

Well, I've already built my cabinets with flat rails. They are 12U wide or
6 2U Motm's. The way I worked mine is like this. The whole setup sits on
the floor next to my controller. The bottom cabinet is about 19" high and
houses 2 900 power supplies, a +-5v power one, my Kenton Pro-4, a Samson
PL1602 mixer, patchbay and a Furman power strip. The top 9" is set back at
a 12 degree angle to help visibility. Next is a 1 high row of six modules
also set back at twelve degrees. On top of that is a 2 row cabinet with no
setback and a filler strip of wood between the two rows of modules. One
top of that will be another identical 2 row cabinet . The cabinet is
built, I just need to do the staining and finishing on it and mount the
flat rails. By the weekend I should start mounting modules I have
completed in the top cabinet. The bottom three rows are fairly well
accessible from a sitting position and house the frequently used
modules. The top two rows will house less frequently used modules and
modules used with guitar input.

steve,
now if this were to become a motm offered module, that would be very cool.....
would rival tony`s "ueg" in shaking off the veneer of sameness that can
pervade module developments sometimes.
