Sheffield sounds good to me... your place Paul?

Actually, I think the 'ceylon' is hotter than that. But I had a tindaloo
(sic) once, and that was really quite ridiculously hot. Mind you, the
hottest curry that I ever came across is the 'Charlie's Special' at the
Plaza Cafe in Manchester. This was an Etheopian 'restaurant' that would
give you a free t-shirt if you ate the whole bowl. For a laugh, I ate
the whole bowl, but Charlie informed me that he had run out of t-shirts
that month. It wasn't funny and I didn't feel very well the next day
either.

What dates are you thinking about? I might be willing to fly over for a
long weekend if there is enough advance notice.

Cheers!

[motm] UK meet

2000-10-15 by Gert Jalass

Hi,

could somebody bring a little bit more light into the topic "UK meet" ?

I'm still in the process in moving my Email feeds from the German EMail
adresses to the (new) Swiss ones and might therefore missed the start.

Geneva (Switzerland) isn't that far from the U.K. ;-)

hello all

well unless anyone has any suggestions, Sheffield it is then..?

so you know - i run a studio in the centre of Sheffield, two minutes walk
from the railway station (not really applicable here), just off junction 30
/ 31 / 32 / 33 / 34 on the M1. Sheffield airport has flights direct to
Brussels, I think they still do flights to Amsterdam, and I think one of the
Paris airports will be added soon.

the studio is a big, single room neve facility (gear junkys check out
www.axis.syol.com). to plan anything in advance, we'd have to look at a
weekend. we wouldn't be able to start twiddling until around 8-10pm on the
friday if there was a session in that week - we try to be civilised and work
purely monday to friday.

date wise i have no idea what would be best for me, definately later as i
just split up with my girlfriend of many years, and currently have no-where
to live (the sight of me departing in a cab with bag of clothes, modular
synth and about five toolkits would have brought a tear to the eye of many
on this list - anyway, let's just say it was my own fault - the less said
about that the better...

oh yes, so it would be rather difficult for me to put any one up for the
night just yet - unless of course you all want to bring sleeping bags and
we'll camp out in the live room - under the mirrorball
bad idea...

so there you have it:

cheers
paul b
