Official rack-to-rack power jumper

Official rack-to-rack power jumper

2000-11-04 by Paul Schreiber

The OFFICIAL way to jumper power rack-to-rack is a Neutrik 'SPEAKON'
4-position
connector. These are available from Allied Electronics.

The "cable side" consists of Neutrik NL4FC connectors, using 12ga wire.
Allied part number
is 514-1110. Price is $6.55 ea.

The 'panel side" is a Neutrik NL4MP, Allied part #514-1112, at $3.57.

The panel connector uses 0.187 FASTONs males (like the MOTM-900 power
switch) .

The wiring is as follows, looking on the REAR of the PANEL connector. The
terminals
are *clearly* marked:

+1 = +15V
-1 = ground
+2 = -15V
-2 = ground

The MAXIMUM recommended length of the inter-connecting cable is 48". Yes,
you need
all 4 wires in the cable.

Stooge Larry will me making up the prototype 2U tall, SKB friendly MOTM-950
power supply.
If all goes well, then I will have my cable supplier make up the cables.
They will be *about*
$30ea (no whining!!). The ones I will provide are 1m long.

Is the 950 power supply a power connector board mounted on a 2-space panel
with a speakon running to the original 900 supply? (Mine happens to be rear
mounted so this is perfect!) Thanks for the update

Uses the original supply. Will have a -A version for people who want to
convert over an
existing '900.
