MOTM-940 MOD's and TIP? (I Think)

2000-11-07 by thomas white

Hello again,

I was sitting here thinking about buying a MOTM-940 to use as an interface
between my Blacet, D and MOTM units. Can the row of black "Ground" banana
jacks be removed and replace with 1/4" jacks? I would like to make this a 6
way multiple for use with my Gate out signals. Please help 940 owners.

And if you want to use the 940 for more multiples than it appears to be able
to handle, you can use the stackable banana plug feature to link the
1/8"-1/4"-Banana (3-way) multis together in groups. Is there some problem
with this I don't see? I have not used banana jacks before and the separate
ground line baffles me. Do you need the ground to keep the hot lines wired
up? Who has a serge out there? How do these cables work?

Yes, but note the 1U wide Expand-O-Mult is now at the machine shop! Expect
to ship
by Dec 15th. It has 4 cascaded 4-way mults. You can "break" the cascade
at 3 points (by inserting a patchcord in a certain jack). Beats screwing up
a '940.
