We had a LONG discussion bashing out the design of this module last year.
See the winning design in the attached mockup. It has a fixed triangle
output and a variable saw to square output. No PWM, but that's what the 300
is for.

Thanks, Dave, for the info & picture.  Looks like a handy nice 1U vco
(however, I think I would have gone for vc on shape, not fm, but I'm too
late).  I'm still very interested.

Could someone explain how a half square half triangle wave would look or
sound? I'm trying to figure out if this is just a mixer between 2
waveforms or an actual morph control. -Nate

I found that adding a negative triangle to a square to sound much nicer than 
adding a positive tri to a square.

As I recall, we were thinking of a basic crossfade (not morphing). I do think 
this was all hashed out a while ago and probably predated the list presence 
of many of the EEs now here (like JH and the Tonys). I wonder if they'd 
change any of these features?

It will be a nice stocking-stuffer. Personally, I'm holding out for 
Doug Kraul's MOTM vco with through-zero FM.

Same here, FWIW. If you 'had' to, you could do crude FM by mixing the
modulator in with the 1v/Oct CV, but VC of that shape would be really sweet.
Oh well.

Hey, what if one were to take a page from the RA Moog book and design a 1u
"Micro Oscillator Driver" that could have some extra 'Ins' on it and behind
the panel hook to PCB points on a bank of the Micro VCOs? This could add the
features that were left off the uVCO for space and economy.

In this case, a "master" FM IN on the Driver module would make sense,
because it would identically modulate the pitch equally for vibrato effects.
This would then feed points on the circuit boards for say three uVCOs, while
each individual uVCO had its own shape control for PWM-like ensemble
effects.

A driver could have a master tune as well. So if you had a keyboard CV
feeding into one of Mr. Hendry's interval switches, then into the VCO
Driver, and this feeds a row of uVCOs...could be cool. Very fast adjustments
with few patchcords for basic use, with lots of patch-a-bility for NON basic
use.

Just a thought.

Or, in case folks making 822s and 831 had not considered, you could add  FM
modulation and master fine tune to either the 822 or 831 interval octave
switchers.  Of course, the 1U panel implementation does not support the
panel space necessary to implement that.  BUT, due to some other
"enhancements"  the new PCBs will even have a connection point perfect for
this application. A minimum FM modulation implementation would required only
one resistor and the input jack.  If you wanted it variable, add a pot to
that.  The connection over to the 822 or 831 would be ONE wire per channel.
So, if you wanted, you could make a 1U panel to sit adjacent to the 831 (for
example) with:
1 - master tune pot.
3 - FM attenuators (not reversing)
3 - FM input jacks
The FM jacks could be wired to be normalled so that one voltage could FM all
3 oscillators together if nothing was plugged into the other two.  All the
summing circuits necessary to do that are already in the 822 and 831.
