Pre-Amp

Pre-Amp

2000-12-01 by joe.pavone

Hello all - I have a general question for those of you who like to put "other things" into your MOTM filters... in the absence of an MOTM pre-amp what are you using? do you have a preference?

I have been putting various drum machines and mono synths into the MOTM with a JoeMeek VCS3q with good results.

i've been putting my 101 straight into 420s and 110s sans preamp... works
great, both cv and audio.

bleep.

I go through a small Mackie mixer. Works juuuuust fine. And it gets loud
enough to make the 440 seriously distort.

In absence of that, headphone outs are generally stronger than line outs,
but also generally to have lesser quality op-amps. To my understanding, at
least.

i've been using a zvex super hard on. nice clean boost. but i sure
wish the MOTM equivalent would show up - it's a pain to have to go
outside the rack for that kind of thing.

Here are three pictures of the first "real" UEG.

You will notice there are no switches on the unit. That is ONE of parts I'm
waiting for and a reason why I can't ship yet. I have another functioning
unit with the wrong switches, but I didn't want to show it.

Info will be on the website in a few days.

Thanks for your pre-orders.

I have a DIY, 2-IN, 4-OUT reversing attenuator I use. I am fitting it with
a 1x / 10x gain switch, so it can be use to match MOTM to line stuff and
line stuff to MOTM stuff. It is a simple op-amp based circuit. This one is
maybe simple enough for the first time DIYer. I hope to have the
documentation at my site soon. I have been busy with the 822 / 831 interval
/ octave switcher project. Any DIY'ers interested in such a project should
e-mail me privately.

Hi all,

There's a pre-amp on my new envelope follower module. It can be used
separately too. Details at:

www.techrepairs.freeserve.co.uk/follower.htm

There may be some final tweaks needed on the circuit, but the boards
should be ready in about two to three weeks.
