700 module

In all my excitemnet about other modules I may have overlooked the power of
the 700. Is it the opinions of others this module could be useful into
adding some crazy elemnets into the modular system ?

Yes. I don't own one yet, but I imagine that much wackiness would ensue.

I use it for a lot of things. I think it's uses are underestimated.
Remember
it is both VC one input to two outputs *or* two inputs to one output.
Plus,
it will clock into audio. I've run a preamped guitar signal into the
control
input with +5/-5 into the other inputs to convert my guitar signal to a
square wave. Send to guitar to control and one input and -5 into the
other
input for a half guitar/half square. Hmm, how about guitar signal into
control and one input and 300 into the other with the VCO sync'd to the
guitar? Other things include VC effects switching, octave jumps, trills,
etc. I'll leave a three note sequencer with individual note lengths as
an
exercise to the reader :-)

It's very, very, very useful. Once you use it a couple of times for simple
switching tasks, your mind will grow into all the possibilities.

I used it in one track to "bring in" a bass tone sequence; I started with
the threshold low and only one note resulted. Slowly I turned up the
threshold according to different points in the composition until, one by
one, each note (starting from the lowest in pitch) was added to the
sequence.

I've also used it to switch between two different CV offsets--I used the
outputs of two 800s (sustain set to my offset) into two inputs and switched
between them to an output, either manually or via a LFO. I actually did this
once sending those offsets to the CV input of my FR777 to control the pitch
of one of its oscillators.

More applications later...

David.

Yes, crazy and noncrazy. In the several weeks that I've had mine, I've
experimented with switching waveforms from 2 osc's to switching cv's
between 2 adsr's with the lfo to switching fm on my 440 and switching pwm
amounts on the osc's. Some I've found very useful, some were just fun
listening to. Get one, you won't regret it.

Yes. I own one. Wackiness has ensued.
