Off to NAMM

2001-01-17 by Paul Schreiber

Shutting it down until Monday the 22nd. I don't have remote FTP, so I can't
have a 'daily update'
to the site (will be too tired, anyway!). I promise to take lots of photos.
I will need disk space permission
on somebody's server, as I am near capacity :(

I mailed 9 orders out yesterday: I'm sorry not all were sent. There are
about 5 non-'101 orders left in
the backlog AND THAT"S ALL! Module #1600 will probably ship late next week.

I will have MOTM audio demo CDs in the near future. And, I'll stuff a new
brochure in outgoing orders
so you can have one (not exactly in the mood to mail 187 of them out right
now). My wife saw my $5800
VISA bill and had a cow.

Here is my personal point system for NAMM. Let's see how I do:

Picture of me and Bob Moog - 50 pts
Bob has on a MOTM hat - 100pts
Picture of me and Keith Emmerson - 75pts
Keith has on a MOTM hat - 250pts
Picture of Wendy Carlos - 150pts
Wendy has a MOTM hat - 500pts
Any other famous person in the booth, over age 40 - 100pts (if they're under
40, I probably never heard of them!)

Later,
Paul S.

I have plenty of space on oldcrows.net (which is about to get even
bigger). I'll email you account particulars.

RE: [motm] UEG status

2001-01-22 by Tony Karavidas

NAMM was great but tiring! Several people from this list (and AH) got to see
the UEG in action.

Since I've been getting a lot of private email about the status, I thought I
would reply to all of you at once.

The UEG at NAMM was one of the few I received from my OEM for verification.
I still do not have the full production units back yet. I expect them this
week sometime, BUT there was a couple issues with the unit that I need to
investigate.

One feature that is currently not implemented properly is the TCV input. I
actually disabled it for the show because I didn't want it to screw up while
being used.

The other thing is during the show, I noticed some odd behavior of the
module. I don't know if it is a bug, or if it had to do with the "clock"
Robert was feeding to the module, but either way, I need to investigate.
Lastly, I still need to write the manual. Some of you may decide to accept
it without the manual and we can have private conversations when the time is
appropriate.

I know you've been expecting this in December, but there were parts problems
at that time which pushed out the manufacturing schedule. My OEM also build
Knobbys, Slidemates, Evenfall Minimodulars and many other non-music related
electronic products. We slipped out of a production window with the parts
delay.

Anyway, thanks for being patient. I want to deliver a product that is robust
and shipping early for the sake of shipping is not that way to do that.

Thanks,
Tony Karavidas
