if you have a yahoo mail account, your ID is the first part of your email
addy: ID@...

or click "My Groups" at www.yahoogroups.com and register. then browse thru
all the lovely groups and sign up for the ones you like. yahoogroups will
keep a record of them so when you come back to the site you'll see all your
groups neatly listed for you for easy maintenance.

First pics of my MOTMized Wiard MiniWave

2001-01-30 by mate_stubb@yahoo.com

I just uploaded several pics of my beloved Wiard MiniWave in its new
MOTM attire:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/motm/files/MOTMized+Wiard+MiniWave

Standard disclaimer about my crappy blurry digital camera applies.

This seems to be happening a lot lately. Somebody posts a link which I
follow, only to run into a page saying "Oops" and asking for me to sign up,
resister or enter a password and ID. I don't know what my Yahoo Password or
ID is and when I tried to ask what they were a few days ago so I could see
how my list preferences were set, that didn't work. What is the secret to
getting past the MOTM/Yahoo list barrier? I don't ever remember getting an
ID or password when signing up for this list.

This sucks! I really want to see these pics. Can someone get the pics from
Dave and post them to a proper web site. I will do it if he sends them to
me.

I just discovered that if you simply click on the "Files" tab on the
left hand side of the yahoo site you can see the files described. I got
the opps message and saw the "files" by coincidence.

RE: [motm] First pics of my MOTMized Wiard MiniWave

2001-01-30 by David Bivins

This is pissing me off bigtime. I *had* a Yahoo ID at some point, and I'm
not really interested in setting up another account. Worse, I am the *owner*
of an egroups list, and they never even sent me an e-mail telling me how to
transition to the new system. So my mailing list is essentially held hostage
until I fill out Yahoo's bullshit form.

The deal is that Yahoo bought egroups and instead of letting the egroups
interface stand (which was brilliant because they only needed your f***ing
e-mail address, not your freakin' pet's name) they're forcing everyone to
get one of their precious IDs.

Flaky flaky flaky.

Sorry for the grumpiness--worked the night through,

David.

I agree 100%. I'm not even going to bother; I'm sick of filling out web

Sorry, but I refuse to give Yahoo information on my gender and occupation
just to get access to these e-mail lists. This is REQUIRED information to
register for a Yahoo ID, just to get back to the same level of service we
were getting from e-groups. Does anyone else here think this really sucks?
Or is my paranoia getting the best of me.

Did you know Amazon and Ebay own your information! They can do whatever they
seem fit with it! Bizzare isnt it. Just make something up, its worth it to
see the pretty stooge panel work.

You're not the only one that's gettin' grumpy over this! I LIKED e-groups.
Why the F**K did they have to change it?

Of course, and that's what I ended up doing, but it still really bugs me
that they made that kind of information mandatory to sign up. Makes me
wonder what'll happen when Yahoo merges with Time/Warner/AOL/Microsoft...

I can't do this yahoo thing. They suffer fro the worst kind if Chinese
boauracracy. (inside joke for liberal chinese) A while ago I wasn't
allowed to list my sight with their search engine. They couldn't just
port us e group users over with our id's already.

IT IS TIME FOR US ALL TO START PROTECTING OUR PRIVACY. AND DOING OTHER
SMART THINGS TOO LIKE NOT LETTING FRESHLY RELEASED EX CONS DRIVE AROUND
DISABLE AND WORK WITH ELDERLY.
