Hi Fritz,

Here is my Mike Rutherford story. The Summer of 1978, Genesis was doing the And Then There Were Three Tour. Remember the moving mirrors on stage? Anyway, there was a record store chain in the Midwest called Peaches Records and Tapes. I guess based out of Atlanta, but I was in Cincinnati at the time. The grand opening of Peaches was the same day the tour stopped at Riverfront Colliseum in Cincinnati. Rutherford, Banks, Collins, and Sturmer were there. The band was signing albums and sadly not many people there. I brought my Wind N Wuthering album. When asked by Mike why I didn’t have ATTWT, I said I did, but your autograph will show up better on this album. I remember how tall he was and how huge his hands are. A little later, the festivities moved outside. It became a tradition at this Peaches for visiting band to leave their handprints in cement on the side walk in front. The all did it and wrote thier names. Someone pressed a coke spoon into the cement and Mike pulled it out.

Alas, my on,y brush with fame not counting the time Greg Lake told me to get away from him after seeking an autograph from the Works I tour.

John

Mike Rutherford seemed like a bubbly chap when I got to hang with the band a bit.

So Genesis, King Crimson, and Yes are grizzled, lazy, grumpy musicians??
