Re: [newmellotrongroup] Tangerine Dream DVDs ?

2012-04-24 by Tony

Wow I’ll save their site.
Sounds (no pun) promising, thanks!

Tony,

Thanks for your efforts... Wayside Music is another site that I've bought Prog & RIO related stuff from through the years.

Before reading the reviews, Tangerine Dream - Live at Coventry Cathedral, 1975 is the DVD I'd probably mostly be interested in. It turns out that the audio is taken from their "Ricochet" record and is not directly related to the video, so what is the point ? However, there is some nice video footage of the Mellotron MK V in viewing excepts of this DVD on YouTube.

Does anybody else have any suggestions ?

Thanks,

Robert

Robert,
I looked for DVDs on Amazon and eBay, came up pretty much empty handed as I feared.
The re release of Phaedra (35th anniv), mentioned a DVD, but was sold out and unsure if it would be restocked.
Surprising, but newer stuff might be worthwhile.

Tony,

As you know, I love this group too.

I thought you would be "the" appropriate person to make this inquiry:

I would like to buy a good quality DVD of TD performing their 70's material. Even a good documentary would be acceptable or perhaps preferable.

The reviews I've read for the DVDs readily available are mixed, so I thought I would ask you 1st before I purchased anything.

Any recommendations ?

Thanks,

Robert

The Japanese are the masters of commercials and game shows. This is one of my favorites (WARNING!!! PAINFULLY GRAPHIC CONTENT!!!)
