Re: [newmellotrongroup] Other

2012-11-16 by Mark Pring

Thanks Fritz, I can't get the link to work either, I would have been interested to hear the sound without artefacts. I have only very simple software which produces a lot of artefact but heavily reverbed produces quite a pleasing shimmering effect.

Mark

It is a wonderful piece! Well done! It reminds me of this:

http://www.park.nl/park_cms/public/index.php?thisarticle=118

9 Beet Stretch: Beethoven's 9th stretched to 24 hours in length with no artifacts from the time stretching process. Check it out out. You're in good company.

best,

fritz

Mark it’s brilliant!
I’ll gladly pay handsomely for this piece on a
CD.
Or if you have another suggestion for getting it into
my Korg (not yet delivered), I’m listening (no pun
intended).
There is so much potential for my space music, it’s a
“must have”!
Been quite awhile since a piece has moved me so
much.
Thanks to you and Robert for creating it, and getting
back to me!

Best,
Tony

Thanks Tony and Robert, the microsampler comes with 35 samples in ROM
and there are a couple of free packs that can be downloaded from Korg but they
don't include the M300 violins which I sampled myself from #1565. There is only
enough memory for 8khz samples but add a ton of reverb and they don't sound too
bad. Also the original piece only lasted a couple of minutes and it was
stretched, layered, filtered, multitracked and I think reversed at some
point!

Mark

Hey fellow members,

There was a recent post with the Korg Micro Sampler
w/M300 strings, who posted it?
Anyone still have it by chance or
luck?
I ordered one and it was during my bout with the
flu, so I “presumed” the sounds were preloaded, and now recovered I realize that
that was very unlikely.

Thanks in advance,

Tony #510

I liked it, but then again
I am a fan of the Lips. My only problem with them , in
general, is their tendency to have the work be mercilessly mastered way too loud, at least the last3 albums. I can't listen to more than 10 minutes at a time
in an uncompressed format and mp3s are nearly
unlistenable (word?)

Thanks for posting John, it is different but can't say I liked it. I
did a version of the whole album with ukulele which at least has the merit of
being mercifully brief ( 7 mins ). There's just too much of this and it's too
slow! Life's too short.

Mark
