M400 #908 for sale

2008-03-03 by MAinPsych@aol.com

Dear friends.

I decided to put Mellotron M400 #908 on the selling block, listing it here
first and giving you all first shot at it before putting it on eBay. This past
weekend, I sat down and figured out what I needed to do time-wise and
financially to complete the licensure process here in CA, and came to the
heartbreaking conclusion that I needed to sacrifice 908 to accomplish this in the most
expeditious manner possible <sniff>. There are other 400's in the world. I'll
post some pics as soon as I get my desktop up and running again in a day or
two.

#908 - purchased in 1993 from Adam Scramstad, who, like me, have kept it in a
climate-controlled, smoke free environment. It's in magnificant condition
internally and externally, unlike the pieces of crap that we mostly see on eBay.

 - SMS2 replaced CMC-10 card
 - headblock aligned by Streetly
 - new headblock-to-preamp wiring (no screech!)
 - finished in Walnut stain
 - low-noise mod done before CMC replacement
 - pitch pot replaced by Markus
 - gold-tinted control panel
 - MkVI control knobs
 - no cheek blocks (never got around to making a set)
 - tape frame with MkII 3 Violins / MkII Brass / 8-Voice Choir
 - 2nd tape frame with Medieval Woodwinds / Italian Accordion / French Horn
 - no tape fram thumb screws (available from Markus or Streetly). I
mistakenly thought I had two sets, but really had one which were included with a tape
frame recently sold to a list member.
 - Protectomuff cover in excellent condition
 - original swell pedal
 - given a clean bill of health by Markus when he visited my studio

Price is $5500. (which will be a BIN price if posted on eBay). Local pickup
only. #908 is located in my studio in El Cajon California (20 min. east of
downtown San Diego). Please feel free to email me with any questions.
