I have no idea how these musicians put up with all this. They are all very
accomplished. As Nigel Tuffnel says "It must be a joke."

  As yet another bassist, I found the bass playing offensive enough that I
stopped the video shortly after Mr Giles got started. Slapping has its
place: in a Sly Stone song for example.

As primarily a bass player, I couldn't agree more. I really hate 
that style of playing.
