Re: Worst Keyboards

2007-12-01 by MAinPsych@aol.com

Hi, all.

If you haven't done so already, don't forget to send your votes in for Worst
Keyboard. I'll post the results after 5 PM Pacific time.

Regarding the Best Keyboards list, I'll post the list compiled based on
everyone's feedback so far after posting the Worst list., then cast your vote or
write in your own fav. Regarding Mellotrons, I propose this:
     1. For the sake of clarity, let's just include Mellotrons as an
instrument in and of itself regardless of model for the actual vote, but ALSO specify
which model is your fav, and I will break down the category according to model
indicated (i.e., my vote = Mellotron, M400 or Mellotron MkVI). Final result
will be reflected as in the following example:
          1. Mellotron 18
             a. M400 8
             b. MkII 6
             c. MkVI 4
          2. MiniMoog 15
          3. Figgis Oganichord 1/2

Regarding # of votes, what does everyone think of the idea of submitting your
top 3? ("Jeez, only one vote? What do I choose, the Melodica or that Kimball
one-finger organ that my grandmother used to have?")

Someone may say, "But you're not including Moog as a category in and of
itself". Well, Mellotrons, as we all know and love (or hate), all share principle,
same tape source, and general characteristics as tape replay instruments
regardless of model, whereas Moog instruments do not (yeah, I know: synthesis,
etc., etc., blah, blah, yada, yada.... But could you really compare a Rogue to a
System 55? I thought not.

Feedback welcome, even from Dickson!

Cheers,
Frank Samagaio
