Hope you do come- Gleeman pentaphonic and Yamaha CS60, Seck board also
need help!
I am hoping to find a clavioline- have a saved search on ebay but the last
one looked too far gone.
We have a nice place outside of N.Y.C with a small shop & guest room, you
would be welcome to stay so if you ever find time to visit!

Hi Tom

I'd love to spend some time in New York, maybe later in the year. I've
never done a Solovox, but I expect that most of what I know about Claviolines,
Jennings Univoxes and Hammond Pedal Solo units would apply. What other
devices did you have in mind?

Best Wishes, MSW

Hi Folks.

Here's an odd appeal for you all.. I'm planning a trip to LA for a few
weeks from late June. The main focus of this is to do music and get about a
bit.. I have a band to play with and am looking forward to a really cool few
weeks..

I was wondering if any of you guys could use some occasional technical
assistance from a guy well-versed in electromechanical and analog keys.

Yep, I'm basically hustling for some 'unofficial' work to help make my
dollars last a little longer and make the partying and musicking easier to
fund.

I've been quietly trading for the last couple of years repairing mostly
vintage/classic gear and every penny I have comes from this apart from very
occasional gigs and sculptural metalwork. Here's a brief list of the sort of
things I've been happily paid to happily work on from the last year or so:

Miscellaneous tonewheel Hammonds inc consoles and spinets. There's very
little that I haven't done with big Hammonds and I spent most of a year
working for HammondHire/Miscellaneous tonewheel Hammonds inc consoles and
spinets. There's very little that I hav
Leslies (tube and transistorised)
Vox Continentals ( British and Italian, 1963 onwards) Jaguars
Farfisa Compacts
Loads of Rhodes
Wurlitzers 140B, 200,200A (I've even been known to make reeds from
scratch)
Hohner Clavinets and Pianets
Selmer Claviolines
Misc. Moogs
ARP Oddysseys/Omnis
SCI P5, Pro-Ones
WEM Copicats/Roland Space Echoes
Misc. mixers from dinky to gigantic
Philicorda organs
Wierd Russian analog synths
valve/tube amps
..and lots more

Oh, and I'm not bad with Mellotrons and my near-neighbours JB and MS have
taught me lots more recently.

I usually do a nice job, I'm a musician too so all my keyboard jobs feel
nice and responsive. Rhodes and Wurlies especially.

So, if you do this sort of thing and have too much work on, or if you have
a housefull of gear that you would like me to wqrk on for cash (at
mutually suitable rates, weighed in your favour/favor) and can't find time to do
yourself.. please get in touch and ask any questions that you want. I'm
intending to be around for up to three months this time.

Similarly, I may need to buy/rent or borrow some gear. A Farfisa Compact
would be handy, an M400 would be great! I may be bring a Vox Conti over with
me, maybe only guitars.

Also, if you have a room going, I could happily service your gear for my
keep... Initially I'm supposed to be staying with a friend in Echo Park,
wherever that may be.

There's plenty of time 'twixt now and then so think about it and talk to
me.

I'm a reasonably straight and sober individual, apart from the odd
Rock'n'Roll moment. But I'm always gentlemanly!

I'm also a pretty good mechanic, especially with British motorcycles.I

Love and Scones,

Mark Wallis
