Who put you in charge of musical taste...music is subjective. Just because
you don't have the musical skill to play it doesn't make you the judge.

Please post some of your recordings so we can compare it to your
compositions...even if you don't like that style of music most any musician
would

likely appreciate the skill it took to write and perform.

It's shite.

Close to the Edge has its moments but they are few and far between. As for
Tales I tried on the insistence of a friend (who was more likely a twat) to
get into that album by playing it in the dark, while working, while doing
nothing, while bathing, cooking, hoovering whatever. I must have played it
through about eight or nine times. It truly is music with no redeeming
features, not unlike Works or Humphrey Bogart's characters in Angels With
Dirty Faces. If anyone can really point me out to any part of it that
doesn't sound like animals in an abattoir then please do so.

Listen to Jim!

Topographic Oceans is a masterpiece, in my opinion.

It's something (like water) to immerse yourself in (pardon the pun).

Sorry but it can'thelp to be introduced to the piece so many years after
it's release.

Times and tastes have changed, but Close to the Edge and Tales are still
fresh to my ears and many live experiences with both albums refreshes the
feelings everytime.

My 2 cents worth,

Tony

Caffeine will not help in the attempt to enjoy Topographic Oceans. It will
only frustrate you. Try the opposite end of the narcotic spectrum-
barbiturates.

It doesn't matter if we are talking about the music, album cover art, lyrics
or mullets. I can say that the Tarkus album cover art was complete crap.
Someone else can say it was the best album cover ever. It would be awfully
boring if everyone agreed on everything.

Speaking of boring... Topographic Oceans - I've tried many times to get into
that album. I will try again, after a few Red Bulls.
