So I've never been much of a Don Henley fan. I like a lot of his tunes but  
he always struck me as being an asshole. Nothing's changed. Drugs and money 
 and drugs make people do strange (and mostly bad) things.

The "unofficial" story is that he had some 14 year  old fan-groupie over 
and when she didn't want to do what he wanted her to do,  he beat the shit out 
of her while force feeding her drugs which almost killed  her.

The "official" story (doctored by their management for the media)  is that 
she was a 16 year old prostitute who ingested too much  drugs.


If you care to look through enough Google to find it, you  probably will. 
But the story I read was so disgusting it made me sick to  my stomach. 

I thought later it was just a bunch of BS. I forgot about  it for a while 
until a visit to LA to see Richard Chamberlin. While there I  visited a 
lawyer friend of mine who lives in LA. .He considers the  'unofficial' version 
closer to the truth. So now his songs give me the  creeps.


Anyway, I think you guys should make your own minds  up.

Here's some captions with links. The "Ben Stiller" one suggests the  
'unofficial' version isn't an isolated incident. . 

The early samples of Henley's album contain some  striking ballads, but the 
main tone is even more aggressive musically and  biting lyrically than most 
of his work with the Eagles. It's as if he were  trying to exorcise some of 
the anger and pain of 1980.  
One especially biting track is titled "Nobody's  Business," an apparent 
reference to a 1980 arrest for cocaine possession. With  the hint offered in 
the song title, you don't expect Henley to comment on the  much-publicized 
incident, but he did say, "I was at the bottom of the barrel  emotionally when 
that happened. What really happened never really came out and  I don't 
really care to talk about it. But I will say this: I feel like what I  do on 
record and on stage is everybody's property because I'm in show  business, but 
what I do in my own house-as long as I'm not hurting anybody-is  just like 
the song says: nobody's business."

Don  Henley was arrested in 1980 in Los Angeles and charged with 
contributing to  the delinquency of a minor when paramedics were called to his home to 
save a  naked 16-year-old girl overdosing on cocaine and Quaaludes. He was 
fined  $2,000 and given two years' probation and ordered into a drug

80’s.
