While some tron owners are an open book regarding their trons, a
good number of others guard any details like state secrets or like they
were housed in Area 51! Hey, you in the latter category -- get over
yourselves!
I don't know if you are aware of this but theft is a signifigant problem amoung people who people who play music, transport instruments, repair , store and generally own them. There is even a market for instruments would be immediatey identifiable. Unlike famous art, known instruments are quietly traded and ransomed back and sometimes fought over.
I know many people that have to make sure their homes are extra secure or they would be robbed. I have lost a modular Moog and a Les Paul to thieves and I have had to do some cloak and dagger shit to recover gear for people I have worked for.
Insurance is hard to get , hard to claim and really expensive.
It isn't getting over yourself, it is being practical;
