Re: M5000

Yes I've seen a pic of the M5000,and I don't like the retro look.
So I'm getting 2 M4000s in black, plus some unique features that I can't discuss at this time.
I don't for a min believe the world will end in 2012, it's rubbish to me.
Read yesterday saying the world ends on May 21 2011, or Oct 21, 2011.

Hi, Tony.
How different (one of a kind)? Have you even seen a picture of the proposed layout for the M5000? Do you expect delivery before the world ends in 2012?

Seriously, does the M5000 look different (other than the obvious) from the M4000? I assumed it was simply a wider M4000 with two keyboards.

The Mayan Calendar ends in 2012. Not to worry- we have a new Mayan calendar here at the museum that is good from 2012 through 3012 and we will roll it out at the appropriate moment.

Re: M5000

YES! Please add my name to those requesting a photo of the M-5000.
Hey Bill, not to worry about your birthday. Have a HAPPY one. I've made a couple of calls on your behalf (and the rest of ours, too), and The End Of The World will now be postponed to the 22nd.
Speaking of birthdays, yes, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Bernie! Frank, I think you and I are neck & neck on the age matter, not that it DOES matter. Bernie will always have us by a few years. I'm 59 now (as of last Aug.), going on 30. Soon I can no longer be trusted.
Hey, I'm going to NAMM, probably only on Sat. Anyone going to be there, and where? I'd love to meet ya, and of course, see what there is in the way of Mellotrons!
Cheers,
Berington #1485

Your 2 M4000's

2011-01-05 by Robert

Tony,

Thanks again for your invitation for me to come up and visit you.

When do you anticipate that you will be receiving at least 1 of the M4000's ? That would be great to A / B the M4000 with your properly refurbished M400.

A while ago, you mentioned that you were having a little difficulty in selecting the tapes for the M5000. If I owned a mellotron, I would definitely order from the "Streetly's" library the Les Bradley Medieval Woodwind Mix and the Ebow, because I appreciate the sounds of "period instruments". You might want to check these sounds out. Does anyone on this list have tape sets / frames that include those sounds ?

Robert

Yes I've seen a pic of the M5000,and I
don't like the retro look.
So I'm getting 2 M4000s in black, plus
some unique features that I can't discuss at this time.
I don't for a min believe the world will
end in 2012, it's rubbish to me.

woodpecker sound. to round out the period sounds I chose the PMS Choir.

Re: Frank's New Tape Frame

Oh really; I didn't see those sounds listed on Streetly's astonishing tape library ? Would you mind "inserting" your new frame (no pun intended) into # 525 on your next video; or is it the wrong time of the month ? How about some Praetorius...

You should check out "Gothic" here:
<http://www.mikedickson.org.uk/tron/gothic.mp3>

'Gothic' sounds pretty damned bad-ass I agree, but I'm not completely sure where you would use it. It's so completely monolithic sound that it would destroy everything in its path.

If you are going down that route though, make sure you get the tuned version. The strings and organ are both all over the map tuning-wise and together they sound like cats in a blender.
