I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Bowie many years ago. He showed up at a recording session I was working on as he new the artist I was working with. He brought cold beer and snacks for everyone and could not have been more pleasant and down to earth.

Mike, I think everyone in this group wishes that you had been honest with Mr. Bowie about his music and told him exactly how you felt. You could have then shared with him the story of your amazing musical adventure. I'm sure we will all agree that he would have been the better for it. Frank In a message dated 9/14/2011 12:55:32 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, mike.dickson@gmail.com writes: He asked if I had made the show at Murrayfield Stadium and I said that I hadn't, forgetting to add of course that I thought 'Lets Dance' was his most dreadful musical period. :-)

Agreed. I'm a huge Bowie fan right up to "Scary Monsters". With a few exceptions, I'm unimpressed by his work following....which is why I was so taken with "Toy". It has some of the old madness to it, albeit some of the songs are retreads of old London Boys stuff. I met him on the LD tour as well, but was far too young to appreciate the meeting. He was, as always, exceedingly gracious. I used to be labelmates and good friends with Reeves Gabrels in the 90's and had many instances where I was at parties and missed him by moments. According to Reeves, he quite enjoys my records. ________________________________

I had the pleasure of meeting him when he was in Edinburgh on the
'Lets Dance' tour. I was walking through the Dean Village here and
saw this pallid chap with a couple of other guys.

It transpired he was looking for a place to buy because had fallen
in love with the place some time ago. I've no idea if he ever
bought it or not, but as Fritz says he appeared to be completely
unaffected. He asked if I had made the show at Murrayfield Stadium
and I said that I hadn't, forgetting to add of course that I thought
'Lets Dance' was his most dreadful musical period. :-)
