From the nextweb.com: "‘Virtual MIDI’ – essentially the ability to link the apps together and allow them to control one another much in the way that a normal MIDI controller might control a software synth on a PC or Mac." in iOS or other pad enviroments. Apparently the makers of Audiobus are working on interapplication sync for a future upgrade. I would speculate that the inevitable convergence of iOS and MacOS will see Coreaudio and Coremidi being integrated into a pad environment...just a guess. fritz

<<What exactly does one need to control an ipad music app from a midi keyboard and how much does it cost? Mark>> You need a USB midi keyboard and the lead that allows you to plug USB into an iPad. Keyboard - GBP80, lead - GBP15. You probably already have a keyboard so it's just the lead. Best M mellotronics.com 1963 - 2013 The 50th anniversary of the mellotron

Thanks Martin, unfortunately I need the Ipad as well and I suppose I would really have to get the ipad 2 rather than the mini. I am fairly tempted to get one, there are some great music apps for it which seem to be good value for money. I am particularly keen on the Animoog, Samplr and the Korg Polysix apps and of course the M3000, I am assuming the m300a violins will be in the next update? Not essential though as my own samples have a very individual sound to them. Cheers Mark ________________________________

Mark, save up and get a refurbished iPad 4 from Apple. Big saving, cheaper than an iPad 2 on Ebay and much more stable, faster and enjoyable. M mellotronics.com 1963 - 2013 The 50th anniversary of the mellotron

Thanks again Martin. Not being familiar with Apple gear I think I might have mixed up my numbers I think I meant the 4. Just back from Wellington and saw so many things I would like, was really taken with the Korg Electro 4 HP73, Korg MS20 mini and the Korg Krome. Mark ________________________________
