Never heard of an S. I have an M400SM, I think it is a sound Sales machine. I think my power supply was in a different place in the case. John Bradley moved it when he came over to the US with Martin and spent a few days field servicing our machines at a gathering.

I think the S only plays single notes. I have an SM which I think stands for Single notes (Many).
