WTH, Help

WTH, Help

2014-10-08 by Bruce Daily

Hi all (again and again)

Why am I getting 3 copies of my emails posted to the group? And, why does it call me "Me" as the sender? I can't see any menu tool to change this. And, why, when I choose an address/group to route it to, does it only list our group with a "subscribe" extension? Yahoo mail's interface sucks.

Hi Bruce,

I checked the activity log for the group and could not find anything unusual. There are no multiple copies of your messages on this end, neither in the online group, nor in my mailbox. Except that you indeed requested membership via email today, probably by using that susbcribe address. But that was correctly ignored because you're obviously already a memeber. The correct mail adres to use is newmellotrongroup@yahoogroups.com and definitely no subscribe extension. Has anybody else seen this problem?

Agreed about the Yahoo interface BTW.

I cannot tell who is sending the emails to the group. I have to search
around inside the email to see who sent it. I used to be able to tell before
opening it.

What program are you using to get your AOL mail? There might be something that your email program doesn't like.

Hi all-
What a wonderful internet world. Sounds like you good folks are just as enchanted with this as I am. Oh well.

I went to the group interface and found things were much clearer (except for advertising). But, I prefer using the email interface for group posts. A feature I miss, which was taken away in the newer yahoo mail version, is the ability to save individual emails. Now, one can only save entire conversations. What a waste of space. One day the cloud is going to get full and "precipitate" all over us! :-)

I clearly see it in my browser Bill (Firefox) but not on crappy old AOL
itself. I used to be able to see sender names up until a couple of months ago.
Even on older versions it no longer shows the name of the sender. I keep
AOL software because it is easier for my wife.

I can't use the old AOL software anymore. But it sounds like the old AOL program and Yahoo aren't jiving either because of a change on Yahoo's end, or the AOL program isn't working correctly.
