Re: Tull & Beyond...

Hey John, How funny you ended your message as you did! My dad always said, "Great minds run in the same gutters!" The last piece of my album, in fact, begins with just a quiet, slow-grinding Hammond & vocal, then 1/2-way through the first verse, the Mellotron comes in - all very quietly & kind of reflectively. Acoustic guitars & bass come in next under a classical guitar solo that follows that verse, and it all goes from there. Haven't written the 2nd verse or the next section yet, though I know how it's going to begin. I've recorded the ending, too. No doubt, that IS the beauty of Protools, being able to put these sections together once they all deserve each other. I've RARELY, if ever, written this way... I'm much more linear, (read, "easily confused!"), but I think it'll be a very nice ending for the record! I guess it would fall into the "Prog" category. Works for me! (-: Maybe when it's done I'll have to send y'all a link to it, if you'd be interested.
