Arturia products

Does anyone have any experience with Arturia products, i.e., Modular Moog,
MiniMoog, ARP 2600, etc? Obviously not as good as the real thing but Good?
Bad? Whatever?

Hi Frank,

I've have the Arturia Moog Modular V for a few years. I think it's a
fine soft synth. The moveable patch cords are a nice touch and the
sound is about as Moogish as you can get with a VSTi. You can also
play it in polyphonic mode.

True, but I'd like to get some "hands-on" feedback.

Operational definition: "hands-on" by those who have actually used it
(before I spend/waste money on it). The online demos are mostly hip-hop oriented
trash using sounds that I would likely encounter in hell.

Frank, I think "hands on" feedback is when you get your hands on it and try
it yourself. Just my thoughts.

...and the download demos note that the keyboard is silent (I tried one - helluva a lot of good that's going to do!)

Anybody know how it compares to the free MiniMoog VST from the Voltkitchen Group?

Re: Arturia products

Minimogue is a pretty nice free Mini-Moog clone, but it can't
compare to the Moog Modular V for sound and programmability. Besides
having 9 oscillators, it also has modules like a Bode frquency
shifter, a 960 sequencer, 6 ADSR and several other modules. MMV is
the next best thing to a real Moog-format synth.

RE: [newmellotrongroup] Arturia products

Good morning to all!

I have been using Arturia Prophet V for almost a year. I love the sounds and
the ease of use and programming; however, it is does take up more than its
share of CPU load- make sure you have a powerful processor. The really cool
aspect of this is the bundling with the Prophet VS. I had not had any real
life experience with the original synth so it was nice to have access to
this great sounding device. Being able to combine both is a huge bonus as
well. I would certainly consider adding more Arturia products to my arsenal.
Enjoy the day!!

Frank,

Athough not the real thing Arturia do seem to take a lot of trouble to
emulate the target instrument. My experience is mainly from messing with the
modular.

But as a hardened "prefer the hardware" type I ended up buying a Nord
modular instead...
