Maybe the $3500 eBay ripoffs will dry up now. I wish I could justify getting one, especially with a 4-tier Dot Com modular sitting in my tiny studio. I do miss my olde set though. Bernie --- In newmellotrongroup@yahoogroups.com, jeffrey coulter <i_am_zontar@...> wrote:

Dumb question alert! Does the new one have 13 pedals or 18 pedals?

I don't see any info about the number of pedals. I think the originals had 13 pedals with a 5 octave range. Unless the pedals are really tiny, I think 18 pedals would make the new Taurus a little too wide. Bernie --- In newmellotrongroup@yahoogroups.com, "tony1" <atm655@...> wrote:

The emusician story says "one and half octaves on the floor". That sounds like 18 pedals (like a Taurus II) --- In newmellotrongroup@yahoogroups.com, "Bernie" <kornowicz@...> wrote:

I've never seen a Taurus II. Is it the same width as a Taurus I? Are my wide feet going to be a problem? --- In newmellotrongroup@yahoogroups.com, "ceccles_ca" <ecclesreinson@...> wrote: > > The emusician story says "one and half octaves on the floor". I have an old, non-working Taurus II unit and it is an octave and a half. The original Taurus was only one octave. Dear All, I had started designing my own version having recently restored a set for a customer. DCOs, MIDI, programmable. Oh well not a hope of selling any if Moog are making them again. Back to the KS replacement... Norm

I have a set of original Moog Taurus pedals and it is quite the full sound.

Our bassist,Fred, has gone to some pains to keep his in good working order. They are a real cornerstone for a progressive wall of sound. I've had a "little phatty" analog moog for a couple of years and I'm still not sure I like it- not quite smooth like the moogs of old- something metallic about it- hope the new Taurus doesn't have the same problem.
