Happy 4th to you too, Bruce. Ribs are going on the grill in about 1/2 an hour. Am drinking the preliminary beer right now. My station will be in a chair next to the grill. Left hand holds a paperback, right hand a cold beer. Turn ribs every 15 minutes. Not a bad way to spend the afternoon. Bruce Daily wrote:

Ok, I love my Mellotron the most but that's working great. I need a technician who can fix the assortment of Claviolines and Solovox's I've collected. Some of them "almost" work (most frustrating). For some reason I feel compelled to play "Telstar" or at least have that exact sound- something I can't get out of my system! Ken Leonard suggested Phil Cirocco or Ken Lightener but I have not been able make contact with either. Mark Wallis is either in L.A. or England, I might consider sending it to Hammond Hire "Alpha Entek". Any thoughts out there?

if you want either Phil Cirocco or Ken Lightener to do the work you are in for a 6-month-plus minimum waiting period. what are the symptoms of the problem[s]? ...jeff --- On Sun, 7/5/09, Thomas C. Doncourt <tomdcour@amnh.org> wrote:

Thanks for asking: the Clavioline needs new felt under the keys, most of the presets don't work including the vibrato. I've tried cleaning all the contacts with Deoxit with some slight improvements. It's a Gibson concert model. The Model L Solovox is functioning except for the vibrato but I'd like it cleaned up and fully working. There's got to be a good keyboard tech somewhere stateside who is available?! We've got two great mellotron guys right here on the east coast---TD
