The Mellotron Group

I just got my copy..... The whole mix seems really hung around the drums-that's okay ,they sound great. As far as the Mellotron goes, aside from what is missing partwise, -I don't like the outboard effects. In cleaning everything up the wetness is lost. I don't imagine Fripp and Wilson went through the trouble of using an actual plate reverb and I doubt that it was recorded on the masters anywhere. I doesn't sound like they tried to simulate a plate either- there is just alot of "space" missing. Levelwise it sits well in the mix but without the fullness that a plate, good spring or at least a simulation provides it is quite flat.
