The track is pleasant if a bit generic but it must have one of the best tron entries I have ever heard. Makes my hair stand on end.

Sorry Mark, I though you had your posts crossed. I thought you were refering to ITWOP having the best tron enty ever, and I would agree with you. However, Air Born? It's a great song IMO, but if you listen very carefully, I don't think that's tron! I reckon that's a string machine, ARP or Solina methinks. Unless there's a canny blend going on in there, the rest of the track is certainly s/m. Imagine how good it could have been! Andy K

It's down as tron on Planet Mellotron, not that it would mean you were necessarily wrong, if it is an ARP or Solina which is it? cos I want one! --- In newmellotrongroup@yahoogroups.com, kinchmusic@... wrote:

Just read the review, choir chords at the end, so I reckon you are right, still nice sounding strings. --- In newmellotrongroup@yahoogroups.com, "markpringnz" <markpringnz@...> wrote:

Just played it again, and, actually the bend on the inro is very tronnish, but then morphs into synth type string wash. Anyone know what he was using for this? So, could be either I guess. Lets call it a draw. -----Original Message----- From: markpringnz <markpringnz@yahoo.com> To: newmellotrongroup@yahoogroups.com Sent: Sun, Jan 10, 2010 9:44 am Subject: [newmellotrongroup] Re: Camel: Air Born Just read the review, choir chords at the end, so I reckon you are right, still nice sounding strings. --- In newmellotrongroup@yahoogroups.com, "markpringnz" <markpringnz@...> wrote:

Camel used a Freeman Symphonizer, but I don't know if that's the only string synth they used. Bernie --- In newmellotrongroup@yahoogroups.com, kinchmusic@... wrote:

I sold off my Poly Evolver Keyboard. It sounded great, but the encoders and that tiny LCD were annoying. I like being able to look at a knob and knowing what the setting is without having to flip through menus. I heard the new ones come with real potentiometers.
