Moog Source Mod

Moog Source Mod

2003-08-04 by Mike Walters

I'm currently modding a Moog Source to use real momentary switches
instead of the failing membrane panel. I'm not sure if anyone's done
this before. Atleast I couldn't find any record of it on the web.

I'm going to publish a step by step picture tutorial on my website,
if anyone's interested. I'll have all the pin outs for each switch
listed Example: Switch 1 = (ribbon #, pin), (ribbon #, pin). It's
definately not rocket science, but it will take the pain out of
following each trace from switch to ribbon.

It should be up in a few weeks!

Mike, this is some seriously good news, I have a Moog Source with a
fully working membrane panel(knock on wood...), but I'm really
paranoid of when it's going to die.
Couple of years ago there was some discussion in the Analogue Heaven
mailing list that somebody would maybe start to re-manufacture those
membrane panels, but I never heard whether they were made or not.

Good luck!

Great! I wasn't sure what interest it might have to anyone. I'll let
you know!
