OldSynths

Hello folks, please allow me to introduce myself, my name is Clay and
I recently purchased a PAiA 4700. I am wondering if any of you own or
have experience with this synth? I have a few basic questions about
getting it working. The first being, this one didn't come with any
patch cables and I have seen conflicting reports about which cables
are to used on this model. I am assuming that it takes mono 1/8" patch
cables, is this correct? Anyways, I would love to chat with anyone who
has experience using the PAiA 4700. Thank you for your time and

Hi Clay!

The 4700 (like the 2700 which was my first synth back in '74) uses
1/8" mono patch cords for audio and very thin needle/bayonet patch
cords for all voltage control signals.

Please post some sound files when you get the beast up and running!

The "pin tip" plugs are the right ones.  When you find them (I remember getting some from DigiKey some time ago), there are stacking ones made.  I've found them useful for when I want a cv to go to multiple sources...

I think they are the same size as those used on many multimeters.  I'd pull one out and take it to your local electronics supply place.  You'll at least find out what they are, then you can call Mouser or one of those discount places and give them a part number they can reference.
