A couple of things to check, Thanos - Has the old battery corroded and possibly damaged the circuit board or tracks? Do check this out as it is a common problem. Also, check the battery is full charged, and applies the correct voltage (3V or so) across the memory IC power lines when power is removed from the Polysix. I changed my battery with a Powercell as recommended on Old Crows webpage (definately worth looking at).
