I'd go with the old crow's advice (well, I did go with his advice) and replace the battery with a battery clip/holder and a simple Li-Ion battery. This works out for a couple reasons.. You don't have to worry about it leaking again in 10 years, although you might have to replace it again, you can just plop the new one in place. The second good thing is that you don't have to solder the new battery. I don't know about sources though, since I'm in america. -ben
