a big hello

a big hello

2008-08-10 by Garrett Niksch

Hello there!

I'm brand new to the group... just unearthed my dad's old Polysix
today and got it up and running. The contacts on many of the keys
needed cleaning apparently (no sound or delayed sound on pressing),
but I managed to get things fixed and now things are sounding great.
I'm glad to have found others who appreciate this fine instrument.

Anyone have good internet resources re: the Polysix they'd like to
share. A list of the preset patches would be helpful...

Cheers!

Hi Garrett,

Of course (as all the other members will tell you) make yourself
familiar with these pages:

http://www.oldcrows.net/~oldcrow/synth/korg/polysix/index.html

Pay particular attention to the memory backup battery section and
heed The Old Crow's advice!

Factory patches for the Polysix can be found here:

http://virtual-music.at/webseiten_e/zubehoer/korg.htm

I have used these myself to load the preset via a laptop and the
headphone jack, so I know they work!

Also, if you have any questions I have just successfully completed a
Polysix rebuild. Although if you search this forum you will find a
virtual mine of information!

Have fun,
Andy

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
