Not at all. After I got my Polysix back in '84, I got a DW8000 the following
year and they complement each other very well. I always prefered the strings
on the Poly, but DW does killer Keith Emerson-style brass and great leads and
has a built-in digital delay.

Some folks don't like the clunky action but I love it. Reminds me of a piano.

Yes!
I had a DW-8000 once. Sound is OK (loved the E-Piano). Keyboard is
bad. Programmer is crap. Programmer buttons were worn.
Dont swap a PolySix for a DW-8000. You may add it to your equipment
but you probably are better with a digital (sample or FM) machine.

I had the little brother of the 8000 (DW-6000 I think, it's been many
years), and I'm still kicking myself for letting go of it. It rocked. It had
a simple built in sequencer (good for kraftwerk-esque seqs) and a really
cool pitch/mod joystick that controlled pitch (left and right) and mod (up)
and filter (down). Sigh. Wish I had another one. Traded it in on an Oberheim
M-1000.
