I just wanted to take a moment to thank Andy publicly for the help he's been giving me off-list. After refurbing my 367 via post he stayed in close email contact working me through a couple frustrating issues until we found one bad track on my 366. Now things are looking great! Thanks Andy! You're the best. Jesse Olley

I had the chance to meet Andy on this message board and I'm very grateful he's turned my dead Polysix back to life (the name of an american hippie band is hidden in this sentence). Andy is a passionate and talented person, a perfectionist. My electronic knowledge is almost non-existent but he managed to give me clear explanations in various areas. I don't want to forget Jed Jorgensen in this tribute. He is the instigator of the KLM-367 clone project. Unless his patience and devotion we'd still deal with severely damaged circuits. They've both written their name in the Polysix history and we should always remember their inestimable input. Thank you so much ! --- In PolySix@yahoogroups.com, "blindcatfishwillie" <jbolley@...> wrote:

We could probably flood this board with praise for Andy and Jed, and they would deserve every bit of it and more. Giving a classic like the Polysix new life is one of the few things I've done this year that seems worth every penny and every second spent on it. I also think a big thanks is due to the rest of you guys on the board who have supplied insight and debugging tips for this machine, even if (or maybe especially if) it's just a reminder of something I should have seen in past posts. We're almost to a new year now, and I can see a great future for this group. Sooner of later (sooner I hope) the Polysix's will all be repaired and this board will turn to some serious (not too serious) mod work, starting with the MIDI board from Johannes. Start planning for next year, folks. Your Polysix has a ton of new features just waiting to get out. Don Backshall _____

Yes, please no more! If my head gets any bigger then it will not fit out of the door. 2010 has been a good year for the Polysix and I understand there are some even more exciting developments in store for 2011, so hold on to those Poly and don¹t break em up for parts! I think I am personally going to be spending more time on the DW8000 in 2011. I already have three lined up to be repaired for starters. Anyone know anything about em! ;-) Happy holidays! I've had three DW8000's in this year, but I don't think any of them had any real electronic problems. Just really dirty output jacks, key contacts, button contacts etc. Of course, all had dead batteries. One guy actually managed to blow up a capacitor trying to replace the battery himself. I've never seen so much white goop come out of a little ceramic disk. There were a couple of bad solder joints, one on the LED for the parameter button and one on an output jack. All three owners claimed that the arpeggiator no longer worked, which is a bit of a joke on them. This is a common misconception due to the fact that the arpeggiator clock input gets set to MIDI IN instead of Internal clock when the battery dies. Just change parameter 87 back to 1 and it will work again. The pressure sensitivity can be a bit tricky. The felt can get really crushed and sliced when people start pressing harder and it's difficult to find new felt that is thin enough yet tough enough to stand the pressure. There are 2 sensitivity adjustments that I never did get to behave the way the service manual said they were supposed to work, so I just made sure the sensitivity was high enough that you don't hurt your fingers trying to get something out of it. That's about it for my experience, Don B. _____

Just want to add my thanks to Andy as well! My P6 is still alive and well, and you did a magnificent job on the new '367. Looking forward to hearing about these new developments - sounds very interesting.... Thanks a million, and a Merry Christmas! Frank On 23/12/2010 11:21, Andrew Jury wrote: > > Yes, please no more!
