Stuck keys on Polysix or sound that just won't stop?

Hello, I just picked up a Polysix which is my first analog synth. It has some issues though. First off it still has the original battery but when we looked at it it didn't appear to be leaking, I know I need to get this battery replaced. The guy I bought it from hadn't played it in a few years and when he turned it on after being in storage the unit makes sounds and the knobs /switches seem to work but when you press a key the sound keeps going and does not release almost like a key is stuck but it does this with all keys even after cleaning the keyboard contacts. Any ideas what the problem could be? He said it wasn't doing this the last time he played it prior to storage. Also, I assume the reason the presets all sound strange and distorted is because the battery is most likely dead? Thanks! Chris
