How easy is it to get SSM 2044 chip?

2003-03-24 by Frank Blades

Hi guys,

Having built up confidence to look at Old Crow's 'fix your poly6'
pages with a screwdriver in my hand...I lost my nerve:)

So, I have my tame eletronics expert (degree in ElecEng and a wizz
with the soldering iron) have a look. Battery change went well - five
hours, one evening and it was fixed...

...well fixed-ish! Apparently someone had 'fixed' it before and
someone else (possibly the same miscreant) had stored the beastie in
a damp room... so one l-o-n-g weekend later, and I have been informed
that my SSM 2044 chip's gone. Well, I say 'gone' - it's sat in front
of me as I type this, looking sad and dejected.

Bottom line - how easy is it to get a new SSM 2044 chp? (Please
say 'easy-peasy'!!!)

Frank

I've found a guy in USA selling six SSM 2044 chips on eBay. I
obviously only need one, so if anyone is interested in some or all of
the remaining five, I'll be happy to accept offers (so PLEASE don't
bid against me, otherwise we all lose out!!!)

cheers

Frank
