Sequential circuits samplers

Hi!
I just got a Prophet 2002 plus for $25 at a flea market type
situation.  I'm totally new to the whole sampler idea, and have never
played around with one before.  I've downloaded the instructions found
in "files" and I've been able to get some sound out of it (using the
"master tune" selection). I've also (apparently) been able to record a
sample on the line in part, but I can't figure out how to play it
back.  I assume this is because you need to hook a keyboard (or some
type of midi sequencing device) in order to play sounds, but I'm not
sure.  I was wondering if anybody had some ideas of places where
somebody totally inexperienced with this kind of thing (like me) could
go to learn more about using the sampler, etc.  Thanks a lot,
