>Are the ST programs dongle protected? > >Any chance of uploading them to somewhere we might get our mits on them?? > >ac Don't have to upload them. You can go to my site and DOWNLOAD THEM! For a few years now I have contacting programmers and companies and they are now releasing thier former Atari software as Freeware/shareware. There are over 100 downloads on my site. Whats more, you can run these on a PC thru emulation with a program called STEEM. Info and installation instructions on my steem page as well.Better to get a real ST however...so if you have one in the closet, or see one at good will..NAB IT! Unfortunatly, the sound apps that work with the P2000 (Sound designer, turbo synth. genwave, sample maker) used to be dongle protected. An Atari-MIDI member sent me some "libed" versions, while they might have bugs, at least I can experiemnent with them. I am afraid I can't upload those. I plan to contact those companies and see if I can get them released. Many programmers have been giving thier consent to "libed" versions because the programs were allways dongle/key disced protected. So in a way, the "crackers" were preserving these programs for a future generation. (Don't want to get into a legal debate here...:-)If I get some of these released, I will let this grp know. However...plenty of free programs to try out on my site, and all with permission from the original people. Good ones are Tunesmith, M, MidiJoy, Schoenberg Composer, Presto,CAMUS, Fractal Music ST, Fractal Music Composer, the David Snow apps and much more. A lot of the DR T stuff too (GREAT STUFF!) see sig for my site Tim ======================================================== If you use Atari for Midi come join us at Atari-Midi! ********************************************************* Tim's Atari Midi World : http://tamw.atari-users.net Atari-Midi Mailing List:http://www.yahoogroups.com/group/atari-midi ========================================================== _________________________________________________________________ Join the world\ufffds largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com
