For those using sound designer it would be pretty easy to swap samples, but it's true with all the work people put into the p2k, they wouldn't want to give away their hard work so easily. How about more p2k tunes... --- In prophet2000@yahoogroups.com, "charlie from PARRY" <charles.copp@...> wrote: > > its a noble gesture but thats what we have here at this group.. what you see is what you get , > > theres no real contributions because half the users don't know or have full understanding of sys ex > and the the other half of the remaining just are fine with what they have > leaving us few techies who really go to extremes to gain full control of musical apparatus but are introverted in practical sharing due to time spent hacking or doing midi stuff. > > i know i have offered a few times to share sound disks/ sound banks - parameters and never got much established . > i truelly caqn't see how another user group will lift the inabilities we face as p-2000 users do. > charles > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Nick Bain > To: prophet2000@yahoogroups.com > Sent: Tuesday, February 23, 2010 7:59 AM > Subject: [prophet2000] P2K & P2K2 Self Promotion Thread > > > > > Greetings out there fellow P2K/2 enthusiasts. I've been in the group a bit lurking and wanted to emerge from the shadows to ask what kinds of styles and genres people are using their 2000/2002s for. Basically start a thread where you can link to what you're doing musically/sonically/experimentally. This might be a good place for new people to introduce themselves as well? > > > > As an aside, I'd also be interested in gauging the interest of possibly getting people uploading sysex files of original samples. I think in the spirit of sampling, which to me is at the heart of the open source community and movement, everyone building on other ideas is a win for all involved. It could go along the lines of Creative Commons licensing or something like that but ideally I'm picturing just a community sample pool where people can just give attribution. And not to say that "ordinary" samples of instruments wouldn't be permitted, but it'd be great to see more interesting textures, which for me is what makes the P2K really shine. > > > Thanks, > > > -Nick >
