In a nutshell (for creating a left map only preset with map 1): Set 
keyboard mode to lO, SELECT SOUND to your sample,  set left map to 1 
with SELECT MAPS (in map mode, that is, if the decimal point is lit, 
press EXECUTE), select MAP NUMBER to 1, press BUILD KEYBOARD MAP and 
press the root key for your sample (octaves on knob, semitones on 
inc/dec), play the top key for your sample to play at, press EXECUTE, 
[repeat for each sound to be mapped).
